Shea Holman Kilian is assistant professor of legal studies at George Mason University and faculty director of the Pre-Law Learning Community. She teaches undergraduate courses that introduce students to legal systems, constitutional issues, and legal reasoning while providing mentorship and opportunities to engage with legal professionals. Outside the classroom, Kilian is an attorney and policy advocate specializing in workplace harassment, gender equity, and civil rights. She serves as counsel with the Purple Method, where she advises organizations on legal policy and workplace best practices. Kilian earned her JD from the University of Minnesota Law School and her BA in philosophy from the University of Michigan.

Phillip Mink

Phillip Mink is assistant professor in the Schar School of Policy and Government and director of George Mason University’s Patriot Pre-Law Program. As the university’s principal pre-law advisor, he helps students navigate every stage of the law school admissions process, from choosing schools and preparing personal statements to developing competitive applications. Before joining George Mason, he directed the Legal Professional Preparatory Program at the University of Delaware and received the university’s Excellence in Undergraduate Academic Advising and Mentoring Award. Prior to his academic career, Mink practiced appellate law in Washington, D.C., and has served as president of the Northeast Association of Pre-Law Advisors. He holds a JD from the University of Mississippi and a BA from Millsaps College.
Kelly K. Richter

Kelly K. Richter is term assistant professor in the Schar School of Policy and Government, where she teaches undergraduate legal studies courses. Drawing on her experience in law, public policy, and government, Richter helps students understand the legal institutions and public issues that shape the American legal system. Before joining George Mason, she taught at Stanford University and worked in Washington, D.C., on immigration policy, congressional oversight, and public interest law, including serving as legislative counsel to U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris. Richter holds a PhD in history from Stanford University, a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and a BA from the University of Chicago.
